Onefootball is the largest football news app in the world with 50 million downloads and tens of millions of daily users. In the run-up to the World Cup in Russia, Onefootball wants to stir up the World Cup fever among visitors and, moreover, make the move to long form content.

Approach

We wanted to tell appealing, famous football stories, but from a perspective that hardly anyone knows. All linked to a previously played World Cup with exceptional characters in the lead. The plan resulted in 96 cinematographic videos, recorded in 13 cities, 7 countries and 3 continents.

Results

The videos were shown in the run-up and during the World Cup in Russia in the Onefootball app. It resulted in an enormous organic range of 31 million views and 6 million viewers (unique views).
