Who will be your colleagues?
Why do you work at Captains?

Because I eventually fell for Jop’s persistent charm tactics, who managed to convince me that I could make better productions in a team than by myself. I’ve never regretted taking that step by the way. Now I get to surround myself with a great group of talented people everyday.

What did you do before this?

After the Hogeschool for Arts I worked as a freelance film and tv editor for almost ten years.

What do you do in your free time?

Make music, paint and show Captains that I’m the best at Red Alert.

Chiel Verbakel (33)

Head of Video
Why do you work at Captains?

I was looking for the freedom to create and undertake things. But with fun people. And… Being from The Hague I was very glad to see that a group of those people was forming near me, and not in Amsterdam or Hilversum. That’s where I wanted to be!

What did you do before this?

I was part of the editorial staff for children’s programs at NPO.

What do you do in your free time?

I have around 70 plants, they need quite a lot of attention. And I love to learn new things. I’m currently learning how to play the saxophone, sailing and how to sew clothing. But I’ve probably started a new project by the time someone reads this. Maybe Tarot Cards or something.
